V I K K I

Often Called: Vikki, Vikki-toria, Vix, Vik, Vikadeed

Joined Color Guard: The 1998-1999 season

Spots Held in Color Guard: American Flag, sabre, and pike (twirling flag)

Age as of July, 2001: 16 (yes, I started when I was 13, I believe...)

Fond Memories of the Guard: When I first started marching, during one parade I got out of step and Ms. Cathy called cadence which ended up sounding like this: "Hut, Hut, Left, LEFT, VIKKI, VIKKI!!!" Also, during a recent State parade, Ms. Cathy called for Manual 4. Just like I was supposed to, I slammed down my flag...on a parked car!! Well, at least I can say I damaged the car slightly more than IT damaged my wrist...!

Practice Is: Long...hah, hah. It can be long and hard, but more often than not, it's a lot of fun...until the end when I get tired and whiney...

Color Guard, in One Word, Is: Motivating

Other Marching Experience: 1 year of Parma Senior High flag corps (I would've had more years with the squad but they changed it to a dance team...yeech!). UPDATE: The flag corps is back for 2003-2004...and I'm back for my senior year as Co-Captain! I'll also be trying out for winter guard...

The Best Thing I've Gotten from Color Guard: Besides the sense of team work and learning what dedication really is, the best thing I ever got from Color Guard is meeting Stepho. She really is a great friend and understands all the crazy things I tell her.

Personal Quote: "It's fun to play pretend!"

If I'm Not at Color Guard Pratice, You Can Find Me: At home--I have no social life. Or possibly out with my friends. (OK, I DO have SOME sort of social life--just not much of one!)

Favorite Colors: Blues and Blacks

When I Grow Up, I Want to Be: Grown. Or a Journalist.

One Thing I Hate About Marching: The shoes!
