V A C A T I O N

OK, here's the deal: My son is known on various on-line message boards as "Instant Rice".
(It's a Martha Stewart thing...I don't even want to ask!)
His avatar (the picture on the boards which identifies him)
is a box of instant rice.
He's been receiving pictures--posted on those message boards
or sent directly to him--of boxes of instant rice,
taken in interesting places.
This page is his parents' contribution to his collection,
from our travels to Mackinac Island and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Not all contain the infamous box of rice
(I didn't feel like carting it EVERYWHERE!),
but they're fun photos nontheless...
(Should you have your own instant rice photos to pass along, we'll be happy to see that our son gets them.

From Marquette, where the movie "Anatomy of a Murder",
starring Jimmy Stewart, was filmed.
(OK, we never actually went into the courthouse where the movie was shot,
but we DID rent the video once we returned home...)
Anyway, this shot was taken near the shore by the
maritime museum and the Coast Guard station...
